My name is Stanislava Novgorodtseva. I am a documentary photographer and curator of visual projects currently based in Batumi, Georgia.
For over 15 years, I have been working in the field of documentary photography and related practices, including visual editing, educational programme development, photography teaching, as well as the curation of exhibitions and visual projects.
In my personal projects, I explore the lives of people and communities, making visible what often escapes a superficial glance. Fairytales and myths often become starting points in my work, creating a space for conversations around complex topics.
My work has been published in Forbes, The New York Times, The Washington Post, and other international media outlets. I have been recognized by international photography competitions and awards, including Direct Look, PRIX Levallois, and LensCulture Visual Storytelling Awards.
Since 2023, I have been developing and curating a documentary photography programme at KINO, supported by the Canon Young People Programme, for Ukrainian teenagers. I am also the founder of Karass Lab, an online project-based photography school for adults.
I collaborate with cultural institutions, media organizations, educational projects, and private clients, contributing through visual editing, project development, exhibition curation, and photography education.
