Stanislava Novgorodtseva (1989) is an artist primarily working with the medium of photography. Born in Moscow, she is currently moving between Georgia (where her cat lives) and Turkey (where she is working on a project). She is a researcher of facts and a collector of myths, which serve as the foundation for her visual projects dedicated to themes of identity, difficult pasts, and decoloniality. In Stanislava’s projects, fairy tales and myths act as a safe space for discussing taboo and painful topics, facilitating the healing of trauma. Stanislava is a finalist of several international competitions, including Direct Look, PRIX Levallois, and the LensCulture Visual Storytelling Awards. Since August 2023, she has curated a documentary photography workshop and led her own course as part of the KINO educational program and the Canon Young People Programme.
